Since its foundation in 2000, POPsud has considered as a priority the shared resources platforms which form a link between fundamental research and industry and constitute common technological tools accessible to both parties.
In 2001 and 2003, POPsud’s Strategic Council selected 17 projects representing 7.5 million € and supported by the territorial authorities.
To date, our region possesses a dozen or so platforms that are available for use by the photonics industry: From laser ablation to power photonics, from video microscopy to non-invasive exploration of the brain, from high definition underwater cameras to micro-technology for the optical instrumentation of the future, these facilities provide support for the advancement of scientific knowledge and for the industrial applications that result.
