Since the foundation of the association in 2000, POPsud has supported and accompanied a number of projects for pooled facilities platforms.
Since 2001, POPsud has awarded its label to and supported 17 pooled facilities for a total of 7.5 M€.
e.g : PACA2M is a platform awarded the OPTITEC label in 2007. It includes a cathode pulverisation machine for 2 metre optics to be installed in the premises of the company CILAS at Aubagne. This facility is the first in the Cluster run and pooled by a company. The OPTITEC Cluster has plays a special role in its operation, as moderator for the pooling of the facilities.

This platform consists of a modular adaptive optical test bench both to enable suppliers of adaptive optical equipment who are also founding partners in this project to test their products and also to support OPTITEC-labelled projects and to encourage the emergence of new projects. It will be installed in 2010 at the Technopôle de Château Gombert science and technology park. |

The aims of this operation leaded by "Marseille Innovation"are in priority to enable the creators of new companies with an idea for a complex product with an optical core and who are targeting a significant market requiring mass production (in France, Europe, the Maghreb or Asia) to achieve the fastest possible time to market at the lowest possible cost, in particular during the initial prototyping phase, which will facilitate fundraising from investors.
